Plan
The renovation of Sushi Masa, a sushi restaurant in Miki City for 30 years. The former was a stubborn and dedicated sushi chef, while the current owner is a young chef who has honed his skills in the city. The restaurant is a 30-year-old wooden one-storey building, which was used as it was when it was first established.
The sushi counter is made of thick, solid Japanese cypress and is filled with memories of the previous owner’s 30 years in the business. However, the damage done to the wood over the past 30 years had been very significant, and corrosion had progressed. The corroded parts were cut off, new cypress wood was added and the surface was polished to restore it to its former glory. The result is a restaurant befitting the 30-year history of Sushi Masa and the start of the next generation.
